Barca or Real Madrid??!!

Who will win the title?
The way I am seeing it, that Real Madrid is getting more consistent and started to have a real identity of a champion team, at the same time, Barca started to lose part of that glare. Players are getting tired.

Game after game, I see signs of exhaustion on Xavi, Messi and D Alves. The team hardly made it vs Malaga, after wasting a dozen of chances with lack of focus.

Yet, the second goal that scored by Messi is one of the goals to enjoy again and again and again and again and again this season,

it is one of my favorites types of goals I enjoy, a team play of one touches:

Yet, for my friends of Real Madrid fans, some recognition for a 5-1 victory over Tenerifi

Two Champion Leagues Take Away Goals

One from the Champion League of Europe and one from the Champion League of Asia

The first, most likely you seen it, if not, it is a take away to enjoy it:
The Chilean Gonzales goal for CSKA Moskva against Sevilla, very nice long range kick (the equalizer goal)

And from Asia, is a team from Saudi, that is becoming best teams in Saudi since many years. Yassir Al Qahtani scored a goal that declared he is back to his performance (he was very unstable last full year for ethical scandal that impacted his performance)

Robinho "Gol De Pele" music is back

After having difficult times in Real Madrid and Manchester City, I was worried that Robinho might be in decline mode and miss the next world cup. But he always did great wearing the yellow Brazilian shirt.

Now, after back to Santos, Robinho is back to the normal, the wonder kid, he scored an wonderful joyful goal "Gol De Pele"

Commentator kept screaming "Gold De Pele"
(this link inspired by soccer blog)

The World Soccer magazine this issue wrote about Robinho back to Santos.
The picture is interesting showing Robinho going to Santos hand in hand with Pele.

The article talks about the difficulties he faced in Europe and being immature there.

And if you have not seen his first goal in Santos by his heel, then here is another peice of music to enjoy:

Turbulence in English team

Capello decided to dismiss John Terry as an England team captain and give the leaderiship into Rio Ferdinand after Terry scandal in getting a teammate girlfriend pregnant.

However, I am a bit surprised of the decision, as Rio Ferdinand himself had a bigger scandal few years ago together with Frank Lampard. They had a wild trip to Cyprus and were caught in capturing their sexual exepriences in video tapes with (or without) girls permission.

However, Ashley Cole, one of key elements of the English team also caught in another smaller scandal, sending his nude photo to a model. What is worse, that Ashley miself got a bad injury that will take him out of the world cup. His ankle is broken.

Sounds familiar? Every world cup, England comes as a top favorite, but for a reason or another, something goes wrong and they are knocked out from the mondial, somehow.

Do you still keep England as a WC favorites?

Messi got radar in his brain

Messi goal yesterday vs. Gitafi in a 2-1 victory was outstanding. This wonderful player got the ability to do the most difficult things in football, and makes them look very easy.

The way he scored, and which angle to select, in a very crowded penalty box, was a peice of art. He got a Radar in eyes or brain.

Interesting soccer quotes

"I have spent some time wiht Arsen Wenger and Alex Ferguson, watching their training. It's speed, speed, speed. The mentality is to go at high speed all the time. I'm talking about training. In the matches you can se eit, but in training I have also seen unbelievable speed ........................ I was in Barcelona and I saw the under-17 team play a game in training against the first team. I didn't see any difference. 17 years old players from Barcelona with perfect technique, perfect position, perfect speed."
National Germany team coach Goachim Low in interview with World Soccer, summer 2009

"As I see football, the easier and simpler, the better"
Pep Gardiola

"Capello told me to watch videos of Van Basten's goals and study everything about him, movement, finishing, timing, the lot, and score the same goals"
Zlatan Ibrahimovic

"Brazil are a really good, team, the strongest in the world - better than Spain - with a really good technique and pace but also really strong physically. You could see it with every tackle, every time they were one against one. "
Capello after England lost a friendly to Brazil 0-1 last September.

"Even if I had to play with ten men, I would not have him back. Every coach comes up against one unmanageable player in their career. For me, it was Mido"
Leo Beenhakker when he was a coach of Ajax.

"He was untouchable. He's not even that big, but he was so strong. I swear he had glue on his boot. I would make a tackle and think I'd won the ball, nad he'd keep it, with me looking an Idiot"
Nicky Butt, Manchester United player who was marking Zizou in the famous 1999 Champion League SF against Juventus.

"I went off the rail and I regret it. I was insulted, mocked and I reacted badly"
Zidane at 1993 after a red card with Bordeaux against Marseille.

"I have changed, I know there's no more room for illegal knee-jerk reactions at this level of the competition any more. If I do the same thing at the World Cup, there will be serious consequences"
Zidane after stamping a Finnish player in a friendly at 5 June, 1998, few days prior to the world cup. He only got a yellow card.
(13 days later, Zizou got red card in a WC game against Saudi Arabia)

"We always talk about the retaliation. It obviously has to be punished. What I did can't be pardoned. But, if there is no provocation, there is no retaliation. The guilty party is the person who provokes the incident".
Zidane after 2006 WC final.

Four funny soccer incidents

Saudi left back who played in 1998, 2002 and 2006 world cups and famous for his teasing plays and red cards, still do childish moves. In a recent local game, he pushed one the opponent players while the penalty kick is being performed to make the ref repeat it, lol very low class play

what happens if the ref lost his cards?

luckily, this ref found a good player to help him, but what a bad ref

finally, from UAE:
2 childish players x 1 mature ref = 2 yellow cards lol

My Real Madrid friend warned me that if I don't post this wonderful backheel pass from Guti he will stop visiting this blog again
