Casillas at 15 years old - 1996

while browsing i came accross this interesting video for Casillas when he was 15 years old. i always think that some keepers got gifted natural talent, and this is one of them. Yes, hard work is more important after all, especially at keeping,

Videos of the week

I am posting few videos without much words, all speaks about themselves, two great skills, and two very controversial

Was Nani crazy, or the ref? or may be the keeper?

amazing 35 yards free kick

clever skillful touch by Lavezzi vs. AC Milano

after that keeper from Morocco, we got another one from Tunisia

The most elegant Saudi player

He retired about six years ago. He was not just one of the most elegant midfielders in Saudi, but one of the most elegant players I ever enjoyed. He played in 1994 and 1998 world cups, but was not in top of his performance in both mondials.

Youtube does not have much of his best goals, but I just found a video, that has some of his interesting moves.

Also, this goal is nice vs. Malaysia
Unfortunately, i could not find his second goal in the same game, which is much better and was selected as the goal of the month in Asia

Shattali flattering him (for Arabic speakers)
Simple and elegant
The most important goal for WCQ98 vs. Iran

I don't think that football needs Video Replays

Nothing more ironic than what has happened lately in the semi-final of the African Cup for clubs. Al-Ahli from Egypt had a derby with Al-Tarraji from Tunisia.

In Tunis, Al-Tarraji player scored a goal by his hand, which makes Maradona goal or Henry hand looks kids play

It was the only goal of the game, that gave Al-Tarraji the road to the final.

The story didn't end here. What's more ironic, that in the first leg in Cario, Al-Ahli scored a goal by hand as well, and it was allowed. Game ended 2-1 for Al-Ahli, but Al-Tarraji qualified on aggregate.

So, half of the goals of the most important semi-final in Africa, came by hands

Remembering Nawaf

He was a Saudi player who played in WCs 1998, 2002 and 2006. Only in 2002 he was in good performance, but he was with the worst Saudi team in the WCs.

I am not the biggest fan of Nawaf, who retired officially last year, but he was a very skillful player, that sometimes produce amazing moments. He was amidfielder who scored a lot of goals.

What amazed me his skills in long range goals by his left or right foot. What I didn't like about him, that he was like Ibra or Figo, who makes things very complex to him.

Here are some of his best moments to enjoy:
I will start with a wonderful goal I loved vs. Ittihad by his right foot:

and this wonderful goal by his lefty, it was a golden goal in QF of 1996 Asian Cup, in the extra time.

He scored this clever goal in the final of a Saudi cup that ended 1-0

He had very good header skills, I loved this goal against the the usual derby

and this wonderful goal vs. my team

He did a great game vs. Cameroon in 2002 WC, watch this clip
(especially he almost scored a solo great goal in 1:24 min of this video)
Wonderful kick by his lefty vs. Ghana
Exact copy of that goal vs. Iraq
Very good goal vs. South Africa
Very elegant skill and dribble

Bonus Material:
Nice goal by his head against Al-Ahli
Nice goal vs. Shabab
Skillful goal vs. Kuwaiti club (Al-Arabi)
Good goal vs. Ittifiaq
Goal vs. Al-Ahli
Strong goal vs. Al-Nijma

Uruguay nice seven

I have to say I was bit disappointed when I saw all the different international goals. Apart from Daniel Alvez free kick vs. Iran, I didn't see a 'wow' goal.

What I am posting, is something very different, and not that important, but nice to watch. It is the 7-1 Uruguay victory over Indonesia. The goals were nice. What was interesting is that the first goal was by Indonesia, and a good one :)

3rd of of 3 Arab Masketeers: Ismail Matar

He is bit compacted, 167cm, with strong body, speed, dribbling skills and control over the ball and wonderful team work and positioning. He is 27 years old now. He was selected best player in WC U-20 in UAE in 2003. Honestly, I think FIFA did a compliment to the host country that competition.

Yet, he is a wonderful player, and I think he deserves a spot in Europe.

I will start from this wonderful volley in Asian qualifications

but this could be his best goal in a tough game against Saudi Arabia in WCQ 2009

His name started to be more popular when UAE won their only title, in Gulf Cup in UAE in 2007
He scored the only goal in the semi-final against Saudi Arabia

Then he scored the only goal in the final against Oman.

He got good skills and strong right foot, and more important, he knows how to score from very few chances

He got great balance and vision of the goal. Watch this goal vs. Kuwait
Or this nice one against Hilal (Saudi Club)
Watch this wonderful amazing goal (don't miss the replay)

Finally a clever very coooooool goal with strong sense of a striker who can score

Videos of the week

The superior goal goes to Daniel Alvez goal vs. Iran from a wonderful free kick:

Brazil won 3-0 Pato and Nelmar scored too. It worth mentioning that Nelmar and Pato scored in a friendly against the US last game. Both didn't go to South Africa last summer. Though I love Dunga a lot, but it is a good question to post. How did the coach miss them? And took the Robinho (whose performance in clubs was low) and Kaka the injured.

The blooper of the week goes to this keeper:

And why should a keeper be 100% fit? Better than all players. Actually his performance is impressive lol

Bunch of wonder goals and misses

Let's start with a disallowed goal by Ibra with Barca

If you liked that video, you must watch these two videos for Ibra with the same style
Video1: Ibra vs. Atlitico Balbao
Video2: Ibra vs. Dinamo Kiev

Goal with Ibra style, but not from Ibra

Inzaghi never was my favourite, but sometimes he got amazing goals:

Omar Brazo with a wonderful peice of skills

Amazing shot

And finally, this is my types of goals

Own-Goal Hatrick

Not sure if you seen this funny video
it is from 1971 in what looks like one of the English leagues, he scored three goals in his own net

Was Dunga wrong about Michel Bastos?

Before the World Cup I posted a page about the new coming star Michel Bastos with a lithal left foot. He was a left wing, but Dunga gave him the left back position.

Apparently, it was a disaster, as his position was a clear gap, and I remember "Tarek Dhiab" in Jazeera Sport Channel kept talking about Bastos weakness from the first game against North Korea. Both of Netherlands goals came from that side.

This week Bastos scored both Lyon goals in the Champion League in a 2-0 victory. The first goal, especially, shows the quality of the player (watch the second replay, amazing goal)

Was Dunga wrong in putting Bastos as a left back defender and not free him at the front?
