Hatrick with Eto TM

It is a special, run, touches and finishing of Eto, that gave Inter a 4-0 victory over Werder Bremen. He scored three and assisted one.

Hero of the month: Roma keeper

Roma keeper Julio Sergio was injured vs. Brescia. His team had no more subtitutes left. He continued the game, for about three minutes, while crying from the injury. He will leave the field for about one month to recover.

He reminded me so much with the heroic Beckenbauer performance in 1970 WC semi-final vs. Italy. He got a displaced shoulder and he managed to continue the game. I saw the game on videos. Not only he played the rest of the game, but he was even a very active memeber

Khalid Al-Askari did it again

If you wonder, what he did in the first time, here it is

As a support to the poor keeper, here is a video to balance it out a little bit

Why Egypt won African Cups 3 times

Watch these 3 goals from Al-Ahli vs. Al-Entaj Al-Harbi (second club I almost don't know it), a very high class wonderful goals.

When Egypt won last African cup, most of its players were from the Egyptian league, unlike other African nations whose most players were in Europe. From one part other African players were less serious in the competition, and from another part, (and more important) Egyptian league became a league to give a lot of respect in the region.

This does not answer, however, how Egypt failed to qualify to World Cup three times in a row. The only answer is "in Egypt, everything is possible"

2nd of 3 Arab Masketeers: Yassir Qahtani

This is part 2 of three posts in which I like to cover three wonderful Arab players today:
Shikabala (Egypt)
Yassir Qahtani (Saudi Arabia)
Ismael Matar (UAE)

He is 27 years old, playing for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia as a striker. Started to be in the national team in 2002. He scored the first Saudi goal vs. Tunisia in 2006 WC. Early last year he went to Manchester City for an unsuccessful trial.

Mid of last year he got sexual scandal that impacted him a lot and got few red cards afterwords. (when I saw Ribery case and his reaction i was almost seeing the same story of Yasir).

His body is so flexible and he scores wonderful goals from all angles, by two feet, head and got wonderful volleys. His attitude remains a big issue. Also, he is over priced locally, which makes it a barrier to go to Europe. I think he can go to any of the medium clubs in Europe then he can prove or fail himself (clubs like Porto, Benfica, Werder Bremen, Hamburg, ...etc).

I will start with this wonderful goal in the Saudi league

He started to get attention with WCQ 2006 with this run vs. S. Korea then his great chance vs. Kuwait in the last qualifying game:

He scored a nice goal vs. Ghana, then added a great second:

Few months ago, he scored this wonderful goal vs. Qtari Sadd

Bonus Material:

World Class:
His only goal in WC vs. Tunisia, was a nice goal
What about a goal vs. Manchester United?
Or this wonderful finish vs. Valencia?

I love this bicycle kick vs. Kuwait

Great Headers:
Vs. China
Vs. Indonesia
Why would you say he is a talented goal scorer
Scoring a 1-0 goal in Saudi League Final
vs. Kazakhstan; he was very young

Sharp finishes:
His typical style vs. Japan 2007 Asian Cup
I like this type of sharp finishing
Sharp finish vs. Ittihad

Skills and touches:
Clever one vs. Ittihad
Clever finish vs. Singapore
Wonderful goal vs. UAE with a great control
Goal by his heel in the Saudi derby Hilal vs. Al-Nasr
Smart finish vs. Al-Faisali from Jordan

FINALLY, YASSIR WITH FREE STYLE IN STREETS OF AUSTRALIA

Wonderful goal by Tevez

Great run and precise shot by Tevez in a 1-0 victory for Manchester City vs. Chelsea

1st of 3 Arab Masketeers: Shikabala

This post is the first part, in which I want to cover three wonderful skillful players in the Arab world that deserves spots in European clups. Each got his own story why he is not in Europe.

The three players are:
Shikabala (Egypt)
Yassir Qahtani (Saudi Arabia)
Ismael Matar (UAE)

Watch these two videos then continue reading

He is 24 years old, Egyptian. When he was 16, he was already in first team of Zamalek (second biggest club in Egypt). After two years he went to Paok in Greece, and he was so popular there and was called "Greek Rivaldo".

He got a magical left foot touch, with a lot of skills, control of the ball, sharp kicks and amazing passes. He is forward midfielder. Personally, his touch reminds me so much of Apedi Pele.

He won with the national team African Cup 2008 and 2010, but the coach didn't give him the attention he deserves. Or the player got more to mature.

Last week, he got into big trouble when he cursed ex-president of Zamalek and threatened to kill him lol. (this tells a lot why he is not in Europe now). His club fined him with 50,000 Egyptian pound (about USD 10,000) and more punishments to come.

I leave you with some of his skills:
great goal in Egyptian league

Magical clever touch with Paok against Olympiakos

Rivaldo type of free kicks with Paok

Other wonderful videos for Shika:

2007: in a derby final vs. Al-Ahli, he scored from his first touch
Swerved shot on the post and another wonderful shot on the post
wonderful 3 minutes compilations of Shika and another compilation of different goals
skillful dribble and fine finishing
Skillful finish vs. Kuwait

Finally, this clip, in Egyptian league, he scored the tie in the last second of a heated game (watch the time on the left). This is injury time, not extra time.

I was in Egypt and watched this game with Egyptians relatives, it was fun
Shika was amazing that game

The ugly side of football

Ujfalusi cruel tackle on Messi on Atletico Madrid game vs. Barca.
Messi was very lucky not to get a broken ankle from this ugly tackle.

Reminded us on 1983 Maradona when his ankle was broken vs. Atletico Bilbao

Three goals deserves a "must see" this week

The first is the Turkish goal vs. Kazakhstan, amazing volley, reminds us of Marco Van Basten exceptional volley

The second is Messi second goal vs. Panathanaikos, with a top class "one two" style goal

The third was from Thomas Mueller

Jimmy Jump appears again on Hungary

Remember the guy who tried to put a hat on the WC Trophy at the 2010 final? He is Jimmy Jump who got loooong history of invading important events, including Euro final, WC final and CL finals.

Here he comes again but in weather forecasts in Hungarian channel
