2nd of 3 Arab Masketeers: Yassir Qahtani

This is part 2 of three posts in which I like to cover three wonderful Arab players today:
Shikabala (Egypt)
Yassir Qahtani (Saudi Arabia)
Ismael Matar (UAE)

He is 27 years old, playing for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia as a striker. Started to be in the national team in 2002. He scored the first Saudi goal vs. Tunisia in 2006 WC. Early last year he went to Manchester City for an unsuccessful trial.

Mid of last year he got sexual scandal that impacted him a lot and got few red cards afterwords. (when I saw Ribery case and his reaction i was almost seeing the same story of Yasir).

His body is so flexible and he scores wonderful goals from all angles, by two feet, head and got wonderful volleys. His attitude remains a big issue. Also, he is over priced locally, which makes it a barrier to go to Europe. I think he can go to any of the medium clubs in Europe then he can prove or fail himself (clubs like Porto, Benfica, Werder Bremen, Hamburg, ...etc).

I will start with this wonderful goal in the Saudi league

He started to get attention with WCQ 2006 with this run vs. S. Korea then his great chance vs. Kuwait in the last qualifying game:

He scored a nice goal vs. Ghana, then added a great second:

Few months ago, he scored this wonderful goal vs. Qtari Sadd

Bonus Material:

World Class:
His only goal in WC vs. Tunisia, was a nice goal
What about a goal vs. Manchester United?
Or this wonderful finish vs. Valencia?

I love this bicycle kick vs. Kuwait

Great Headers:
Vs. China
Vs. Indonesia
Why would you say he is a talented goal scorer
Scoring a 1-0 goal in Saudi League Final
vs. Kazakhstan; he was very young

Sharp finishes:
His typical style vs. Japan 2007 Asian Cup
I like this type of sharp finishing
Sharp finish vs. Ittihad

Skills and touches:
Clever one vs. Ittihad
Clever finish vs. Singapore
Wonderful goal vs. UAE with a great control
Goal by his heel in the Saudi derby Hilal vs. Al-Nasr
Smart finish vs. Al-Faisali from Jordan

FINALLY, YASSIR WITH FREE STYLE IN STREETS OF AUSTRALIA

1 comment:

  1. I believe he's the only Saudi player who has great header , equally strong feet and amazing control over the ball .Even his body built is strong enough to keep him maintaining possessions of the ball for longer periods . He's the best candidate for playing in Europe and he's one the best Saudi players of all times
