1st of 3 Arab Masketeers: Shikabala

This post is the first part, in which I want to cover three wonderful skillful players in the Arab world that deserves spots in European clups. Each got his own story why he is not in Europe.

The three players are:
Shikabala (Egypt)
Yassir Qahtani (Saudi Arabia)
Ismael Matar (UAE)

Watch these two videos then continue reading

He is 24 years old, Egyptian. When he was 16, he was already in first team of Zamalek (second biggest club in Egypt). After two years he went to Paok in Greece, and he was so popular there and was called "Greek Rivaldo".

He got a magical left foot touch, with a lot of skills, control of the ball, sharp kicks and amazing passes. He is forward midfielder. Personally, his touch reminds me so much of Apedi Pele.

He won with the national team African Cup 2008 and 2010, but the coach didn't give him the attention he deserves. Or the player got more to mature.

Last week, he got into big trouble when he cursed ex-president of Zamalek and threatened to kill him lol. (this tells a lot why he is not in Europe now). His club fined him with 50,000 Egyptian pound (about USD 10,000) and more punishments to come.

I leave you with some of his skills:
great goal in Egyptian league

Magical clever touch with Paok against Olympiakos

Rivaldo type of free kicks with Paok

Other wonderful videos for Shika:

2007: in a derby final vs. Al-Ahli, he scored from his first touch
Swerved shot on the post and another wonderful shot on the post
wonderful 3 minutes compilations of Shika and another compilation of different goals
skillful dribble and fine finishing
Skillful finish vs. Kuwait

Finally, this clip, in Egyptian league, he scored the tie in the last second of a heated game (watch the time on the left). This is injury time, not extra time.

I was in Egypt and watched this game with Egyptians relatives, it was fun
Shika was amazing that game
