"I shall shut up and stop predicting"

That was Franz Beckenbauer in 2002 World Cup. He did predictions, and after the first round when Argentina and France left at group stages, he said that comment.

I predicted Brazil to play the final and they are out now. I cannot claim to predict any of the next games, though Spain looks very favorites.

Watching the game, and in the analysis studio after the first half, Bebeto and Ronald Do Boer were preparing mentally for a Brazilian victory, and very difficult in the world to doubt that one.

I remember in 1998, I had a bet with a friend on who predicts best results. I did my own predictions and he did so too.
Till the quarter final, I got everything right missing one only. He kinda said "waleed, you are so good in predicting"

after that, almost everything went wrong, i only got one right : )

i think this is what makes this game so beautiful and so exciting. that any team in the world, with the right mental, physicall and technical fitness can dream to beat any team in the world.

every few years i tell one of my friends, this game is really crazy, i never imagined this could happen, out of memory
- when denmark was called to euro 1992 just one week before the games, and they won it (yugoslavia put on sanction, denmark didn't even qualify)
- when greece won euro 2004
- when liverpool tied with milano 3-3
- all the champion league 2004 drama

and we still didn't learn the lesson :)
