WC History: Voller and Rijkaard red cards

Posting about red cards, I thought of posting this interesting moment that happened 20 years ago. It was the round 16 of the World Cup between Germany and Netherlands.

Early in the first half, it was obvious that both players had some special conversation going between them. They got yellow cards. Less than a minute, both got the reds.

What's intersting is that about 10 to 15 years later on, both became high ranked coaches in the world of football

What's interesting that these two red cards served the world cup very much. It allows big gaps in both teams. Both played very open game later on, and produced the best game in that world cup in my opinion. Germany in specific did a great game, and won 2-1.
